We have been responsible for the fire protection in many of the landmark buildings in the North East region including the Metro Centre, St James' Park and the Sage Gateshead. We have ongoing and recurring contracts with all the major construction companies in the region and we work in collaboration with local authorities and providers of social housing.

Isoler Ltd provides a comprehensive range of building integrity services including active and passive systems, structural steel protection, fire stopping of service penetrations, air sealing and acoustic separation. All works are undertaken in accordance with the guidelines in Government Approved Documents and current Building Regulations.
Intumescent paint systems – thin film coatings applied to steel to maintain structural integrity for up to 120 minutes.
Rigid boarding systems – providing levels of fire protection for up to four hours. In addition, rigid boarding systems can achieve enhanced acoustic separation.
Approved Document B
Sealing of service penetrations through compartment walls based on tested, proven systems and materials. All works are undertaken in accordance with Approved Document B and covered by third party warranty provided by FIRAS.
Approved Document L
In line with the Government initiatives to reduce carbon emissions and to increase energy efficiency we work with the design team and architects to ensure that air leakage paths are identified and a physical barrier installed. All works undertaken meet the stringent guidelines in Approved Document L2A.
Approved Document E
To install systems that help to reduce the sound transfer within buildings. This is achieved by the installation of tested systems including sealing of all penetrations and closing off open cavities.

Isoler Ltd complies with the requirements of the FIRAS certification scheme for the application of passive and active fire protection systems using boards, cavity barriers and penetration sealing systems (certificate number WU1218). FIRAS certificated contractors are required to undergo a three stage assessment process and certification is granted only when the applicant has satisfied all of these criteria:

Isoler has reinforced its strong reputation in the education sector by winning contracts for work on two major new facilities with a total build cost of over £50m.
When completed in 2011, the new developments for Hartlepool College of Further Education and Walker Technology College will be two of the region’s most up-to-date educational facilities with state of the art equipment.
Isoler has been engaged by the main contractors Miller Construction (Hartlepool) and Sir Robert McAlpine (Walker) to provide a comprehensive range of building integrity services including fire protection, fire stopping, air sealing and acoustic separation.
Isoler will be involved on both projects from the drawing board to the finished buildings. It will work with the architects and designers to ensure that the buildings meet all the statutory requirements. It will also work closely with the client and other sub-contractors on the project to ensure that these facilities are robust and energy efficient, provide for the needs of the students and look stunning.
Isoler has continued to expand its portfolio of expertise in acoustics and air tightness works. This is not restricted to new build projects. Recent works undertaken include schools built in the 1960s and ‘70s where improvements to existing buildings have greatly reduced sound transfer and heating costs with the installation of new fire compartment walls and cavity barriers.
